Reading the realm's phase…

Open phases let every account in good standing play, and approve new accounts as they register. Private phases make new accounts wait for approval. Access is never taken away by a phase: everyone who has it keeps it into the next one, unless staff withdraw it from that account or it is suspended or banned.

Take a clear off the website's boards, and out of the server's record memory (so the next fastest clear is announced as the record again). The game server applies it at its next report, within a minute. A character's own clear count and unlocked difficulties are not changed.
