Terms of Service

Gates Reawakened is a rebuilt online role-playing game run by a small independent team. It is in public alpha: it is unfinished, may change at any time, and is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind.

We may change, pause or end any part of the service at any time, including wiping characters, items and progress. Nothing earned in the alpha is guaranteed to carry over.

• You must be at least 13 years old (or older where your country requires it) to make an account.
• One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
• Give a working email address so we can reach you about your account.
• Usernames and character names must follow the Community Rules; staff may change or remove ones that do not.

The Community Rules are part of these terms. In short: no cheating, botting, exploiting bugs, tampering with the client or its traffic, attacking the servers, harassment, or real-money trading.

Staff may mute, suspend or ban accounts, remove content and reset characters that break the rules. Appeals go to the Support board or an administrator.

You keep what you write (forum posts, chat, bug reports). You let us host, show and keep it as part of running the service, and remove it when it breaks the rules.

Characters, items, gold and other in-game things are part of the game, not property. They have no money value, cannot be sold for real money, and may be changed or removed.

Supporting the realm is a voluntary, one-time contribution through Ko-fi (payments by PayPal or card, handled by Ko-fi and PayPal). Put your support code from the Account page in the Ko-fi message, or pay with your account's email, so we know which account to unlock. A contribution of $5 or more opens all 12 character slots on the account it was made from, for as long as that account and the service exist. It is a thank-you, not a purchase of goods: it does not buy items, power or a guaranteed outcome, and the game may change or end.

Changed your mind? Ask an administrator within 14 days for a full refund. An account banned for breaking the rules keeps no claim to a refund.

Our Discord server and its bot ("Gates Reawakened") follow Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines as well as these terms. Linking your Discord account is optional and can be undone at any time on your Account page.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, downtime, or indirect damages from using the service. Some places do not allow these limits; there they apply only as far as allowed.

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and big changes are announced on the website or Discord. Questions: the Support board, or an administrator on our Discord.
